Not that learning oncology and passing the BCOP exam is easy, it may be one of the most difficult things you do - but it’s worth the effort because of what this knowledge and certification can do for you and your career
After taking and passing the initial and recertification BCOP exams, I have learned the value in using practice questions as a studying strategy
Learning the material is one thing, but you also have to prepare yourself to think in the same way you’ll be tested, which is through multiple choice questions
I’ve been in the trenches of oncology pharmacy for more than a decade and nothing brings me more joy than helping other pharmacists be successful in oncology

Now, in case you think I must be a robot, here are a few fun “human” facts about me:
I’ve always owned cars with a manual transmission and refuse to buy an automatic 🚗
I took a classical guitar class at the same time as organic chemistry in undergrad because I needed to use a different side of my brain 🎸
I have 5 sisters (yep, all girls!), and of my 10 nieces and nephews, there are 9 boys 🤷
I spent most of my life writing left-handed until I got tired of smudging and taught myself to switch hands✍️

Updates are happening constantly! Every month, the questions in 3 topic areas are reviewed. That means all questions get a full review every 8 months. Questions are reviewed by expert BCOPs working in that topic area.

New questions are added, and current questions reviewed, in each topic area every 8 months which aligns with the content review in the ELO Collaborative program. Because the content review calendar is on a rolling schedule, that means there are new questions added almost every week!

Yes, you can access 5 practice questions here. The questions inside the question bank will display the answer explanation after each question (except in the mock exam) which is different from these practice questions that display at the end.

Yes! The ELO Collaborative program helps you prepare for the BCOP exam through 24 different lessons and access to experienced pharmacists to ask questions and learn the nuances.
A final note before you go…
It is true that the BCOP exam is difficult, as evidenced by the pass rate hovering under 60% for the past several years
AND that doesn’t mean you can’t or won’t pass
The Board of Pharmacy Specialties wants you to succeed - that’s how they make money 😂
And I want you to succeed too! I have seen the benefits of this certification in my own career and want that for you too, especially if you didn’t complete residency training because having BCOP after your name makes that question moot.
