Meet Cindy Nygren

After a seven-year professional hiatus, Cindy was inspired by BCOP mentors and decided not only that oncology was the place for her, but that she would also complete her PharmD as the same time!

Frustrated with not being able to pass the BCOP exam, she wondered if she was cut out for oncology. But she refused to quit, knowing that her patients were benefiting from what she was learning. She pursued a new strategy by joining the ELO Collaborative program and is celebrating achieving BCOP status!

Meet Manal Saad

After two years of active studying while working in an oncology research position, Manal didn’t pass the BCOP exam. Instead of giving up, she leaned in - transitioning into a clinic role, joining the ELO Collaborative, and finding the guidance and structure she’d been missing.

Along the way, she built the confidence and real-world understanding she needed to thrive. Today she’s a BCOP and says she feels “like a totally different person.”

Meet Angie Maynard

After 15 years in oncology, Angie felt the emotional toll of the inpatient setting and knew she needed a change. Transitioning into academia made BCOP certification a necessity, but she struggled with the content overwhelm.

She achieved this ambitious goal by implementing a structured, group-focused study plan by leaning on the experts and her peers in the ELO community.

Meet Dola Folowosele

Dola fell into oncology by chance. Working in a small center, she was thrown into the role and forced to figure things out on her own. After failing the BCOP exam on her first attempt, she realized she needed a new strategy to achieve this goal.

Dola had to adapt her learning style to meet the demands of oncology. She found that connecting with a network of experts and peers in the ELO community, along with lots of time reviewing content, was the winning strategy for her.

Meet Sheila Pierre

Sheila moved from hospital operations into oncology and quickly realized that the memorization-heavy approach she’d always relied on wasn’t working.

After failing the BCOP exam, she joined the ELO Collaborative and adapted her learning strategy - leaning into the structure, expert guidance, and community support.

She passed the exam and continues in the program to stay current and surround herself with peers who keep her growing.

If you want to make the kind of progress these pharmacists have made, join us in the ELO Collaborative!
